Tomorrow I turn 50 and it's the start of a whole new me. I signed up for the 'Walk it off Challenge' and this morning my first assignment dropped into my Inbox. I'm to walk 30 minutes everyday for a week. Not an impossible task (despite the cold weather). So here goes...

Hi, thanks for asking. It could be better. I've managed to walk most days but there has been a lot happening this past week. I've also been using up all the unhealthy junk in the house. I feel I'm still in the preparation stage, really but not without hope. I have to clear the decks and get temptation out of the way before I can go 'full on'. I heard something lovely on the radio the other day... I don't know who was speaking but she said, 'you have to make a project of yourself'. That really stuck with me. I am going to be my new project this year :-)

Thanks again for asking. How are you..?

Best wishes DW

I'm fine thanks! I'm sure you'll do really well once you get stuck into your 'project'. Remember we're here for you to rant and confess (but I'm sure you won't have to!!)
Good luck,

I'm finding it sooo hard to get into a routine. My car refuses to start some mornings, I need to get my fence repaired after the winds. There's birthdays and shopping and unexpected job to do... I need a routine. It's difficult to make this a priority when there are so many expected emergencies. Arrgh...

Hi

I know how you feel but at least you didn't fill your power steering up with screen wash like i did on friday derrr. I'm finding it hard to get into a routine especially with cold dark winter mornings. I was hoping to get up this mornin and exercise but didn't and now i've done none. Did make low fat banana cake though but did cover it a butter icing oh well.

Hi, I must admit filling the power steering with screen wash is a yet for me. How are you gonna get it sorted.

I suspended my gym membership while I was away. I've got 4 months being re-instated starting 1st Feb. I'm going to go there in the mornings. I won't bother renewing it when it runs out but in the meantime, I won't feel I've wasted the money, it's some structure, it will be time for me (I won't tell anyone where I am and I won't take my mobile...). Did I mention the sauna and jacuzzi..? When the membership has run out it will be warmer and lighter in the mornings. It's a plan.

How long have you been apart of this site..? I'm very new. I really want to do something about my level of fitness.

I hope you get your car sorted. I'm going downstairs shortly and will see if mine starts. Let me know.

Thanks for replying. DW x

Hi

DH had to drain off system oh how pleased he was!!!

My old gym had a sauna and jacuzzi too! I ended my memebership a year ago couldn't justify paying out the money for the time i spent there. My problem is time i've decided today to write a schedule to see were i can fit more exercise in how good am i lol.

Thing is i work 4 different part time jobs so Tues, Wed and Thur i work 2 jobs/day.Mon, Fri and Sat i work 1 job. Then theres 3 kids, 2dogs and mother you'd think i'd weigh 7st will all that.

I've only been on the site for a cuouple of weeks but find it really good especially on bad days. Theres a lot of those lol.

I had a years membership at the gym but suspended at the end of September. It starts again on 1st February. I doubt very much that I will renew my membership but I just thought it might be a way to get me started.

You certainly sound a really busy lady and it sounds to me like you already get loadsa exercise..!

I am just so fed up with all the false starts and failures. This time it's gotta work. My unhealthy ways are ruining the quality of my life. If I fail this time... well I just can't that it.

Good luck and stay in touch. DW

Hi

You won't fail this time i'm sure as long as you keep trying. My jobs are only shortish hours but it takes time running up and down. In fact there are road works at the end of our street and the workmen keep stopping in disbelief now everytime i go past.

Anyway don't think of the past as failures and false starts perfection takes practice and as long as you keep doing that you will get there.

hang in there
