4th test failed!

My DS has just failed his 4th driving test! I feel it was really his 3rd because the first one was a complete disaster. He really felt he has passed this time! He only had about 6 minors, but he was informed that he had pulled out too far around a parked car and caused a car to break sharply (major error) and secondly he tried to pull over to another lane and caused some cars to be held up, another major. It makes me so angry, he was doing the test for nearly an hour, he did all his manoeuvres right and it was obvious he could handle a car, it is just these silly little things, which you master with experience after passing your test, I believe. I would like to have him on my insurance or my DH’s but they want £2,500 for one year’s insurance, so what are the chances of him being about to drive regularly, without it costing a bomb. The test day alone costs nearly £100 a time, he is only work part time, as he is in 6th form still. Sorry to rant on but I am so angry with this stupid system. My DS is being penalised for all the young joy-riding men out there. He can’t get another test date until June in our area, it’s ridiculous. Feels good to let my frustration out.
