Nutrition for Exercise and Recovery
Here's a Livestrong article about nutrition for exercise and recovery that may be of some use.
We can use this thread to stick any information/questions about nutrition and exercise if that's alright. That way we can keep all the info together and it won't get lost in amongst all the other stuff.

Creatine
Sparkling Sunshine asked a great question about creatine, including creatine, during the chat. Matt's answer was really useful so I thought I'd stick a little bit of extra stuff about it here. As well as supplements we can take on creatine through food especially fish - herrings, cod, salmon, tuna and meat especially pork and beef.
Fear not vegetarians! We also produce creatine in that most wonderful of organs, the liver, here's a useful article about vegan weightlifting which contains a section about creatine, what it does, why people take it and gives a few details of a study comparing vegans v non-vegans.
For the record I'm not trying to push a veggie agenda!

Here's a good article from Spark People about what to eat after a workout. It breaks down the amount of carbs, protein and fat you need and why. It also includes some ideas for meals or snacks after your workout to get you started.
Here are post-workout meal ideas from iVillage.com
And finally for now a fitness food face-off from Women's Health magazine.
