Hi everyone

Need some help! I moved job in August. I was in my previous job for 4 years and left because i was fed up of incompetent and lazy people. I did enjoy the job but i was just fed up of it!

Anyway im in a new job its in health care and i hate it! I did enjoy it to begin with and the team are lovely but im just not happy. I feel like im in over my head and im constantly worrying about things when i get home its taking over my life! The job involves alot of confrontation and sometimes people get quite nasty. Its like constantly justifying yourself and trying not to give people ammunition. Its hard not to take things personally. ABout 3 weeks ago i ended up in tears because 3 'professionals' basically just had a huge go in a public arena.

Im in over my head. My mentor is lovely but i dont feel like i can tell her because im not that type of person who asks for help and i dont want them to think theyve emplyed a loser!

Hi,
I've found that a lot of people seem to go through a crisis in a new job around the four month mark. They seem to doubt that they've made the right decision or think that they will never get to grips with it or that their bosses will believe they've made a mistake hiring them.

I don't know why it hits around the four month mark but when I read or hear about someone going through a wobbly spell after starting a new job I'll try and find out if they began four months ago.

Maybe this is how it is with you, maybe not. Give it until the new year and see if you feel any different. It's not good to have had to endure others having a go in public during the first four months though. I think almost all of us would have second thoughts after witnessing that.
Owly x
