Life In The Workplace
My colleagues are lying to me!
I don't know what I've done wrong. A couple of girls from my department, who I think of as friends (not close, but friends nonetheless), keep lying to me.
They go out at lunch time to the shops or to the pub and tell me the most pathetic excuses for where they are going.
I actually don't mind if they want to go without me, but I don't appreciate the lying.
Should I ask them about it, or let it be? I'm quite fed up of spending my lunchtime on my own in front of the computer.

There is nothing worse than being excluded and most probably you have not done anything wrong. Maybe it is time you stopped thinking of them as friends, and perhaps made an effort to be friends with some others at work.
As for asking them about it, they don't seem worthy of the effort, their behaviour seems childish, but when they lie to you, you could say something like 'you don't have to tell me where you've been it is ok you know, I am not the boss' but do it in a friendly way with a smile on your face like you just don't care, because you shouldn't, just keep it light hearted.
You don't get to choose your work colleagues some do turn into friends and others do not. And get out away from your computer at lunch time even if it is just to sit elsewhere or go for a walk.

If you don't want to sit on your own in front of the computer, start reading books, go out for a walk, or talk to receptionist at least 5 minutes a day but it is something and after few weeks who knows you will find other girls at your work.
Spending your lunchtime in front of the computer is the worst you can do!!!
