Night-time routine

OK, so I know a few people think I am a bit errr retentive about trying to be organised, but since doing FlyLady my night time routine has saved me more than a few times

Before bed each night:

  1. Lay out next day clothes (do DS when I put him to bed, so if he doesnt have clean uniform I have the rest of the evening to wash and dry it)

  2. Lay out breakfast stuff- bowls, cereal, DS' glass, my cup with teabag and sweetner in it under the Tefal Quickcup

  3. Locate mobiles and make sure they are charged or put on charge

  4. Find the keys and hang them up. Lock the doors.

  5. Check DS' book bag for anyhting I may have missed

  6. Check the calender to see what is happening next day and check the blackberry to see where I am working next day
  7. FINALLY, shower & bed.
  • It sounds  a lot but it really only takes 5-10 mins and it makes the morning so easy and calm (well relatively speaking- we still have rows, oversleep, lose shoes and find out that he just remembered that he needs a cereal box and  a ribbon for today, but on the whole life is betetr)

Do others have nighttime routines? What do they involve? if you dont would you consider trying one?

Hello!

We do have an evening routine.

DH checks his appointments and tells me. I promptly forget. I sometimes write a list of things I plan to do the next day, then I don't do them!

I do a ten minute tidy downstairs - sort the bunnies out, stash all my junk in the junk bag, find keys and stuff while DH locks up.

Do a two minute tidy upstairs, put bits and bobs away, sort out a load of laundry for the next day. DH gets his work clothes ready.

Think that's it really. All the breakfast stuff is near the kettle so no need to set that out. We used to but we're not in a rush in a morning so it's not a big deal. Dh makes his lunch straight after we've eaten while I'm washing up and tidying the kitchen. Menu plan is done at the start of the week... so day to day I don't really have that much to think about. Obviously that's why my mind wanders :smileyvery-happy:

I do have a nighttime routine, however these days some nights it consists of trying to stay awake until an appropriate bed time lol! Certain things have changed as DH is away so I have to do everything.

The original cunning plan is:

1. Make my lunch for the following day.

2. Make sure the kettle is full for the all important first coffee of the day (although at the moment it's decaff placebo coffee lol!)

3. Decide what I'm going to wear and locate it all - making sure it's ironed if I've done laundry that day.

4. Wipe the kitchen down and put on the dishwasher.

5. Throw the dog out for last wees then lock up.

Not all of those are getting done on a daily basis at the moment because I'm very tired most evenings due to being pregnant - but this is the list I try to stick to - and if I let anything slip it's lunch - because I can always buy something, and the dishwasher because I can put that on in the morning or when I get home from work.
