Drool! I love unusual knitted stuff like this. One of the knitting magazines this month has a pattern leaflet to make a whole knitted chess set. An Alan Dart design. I've made a few of his things, lovely dolls and Christmas ornaments.

it looks so much fun to make things like this!!Why not give knitting a try? Nothing fancy to start with, a scarf maybe or half a dozen squares that can be made up into a cushion cover?
