too much?
I am going on a bit of a lifestyle change, trying to improve my diet and to lose a few inches which would be the bonus- not the main goal.
I have done detox in the past and I do not want to be so harsh with my body but I still need to go into this lifestyle change with gusto
So I was thinking of going along a route of cutting out dairy and wheat to start- I am so bloated all the time! cutting out alcohol, cuting down on tea/coffee- to 1 cup of black a day
To eat fruit and veg plentiful, with potato and rice as my carbs, salmon and chicken etc as my protein-
however how do I fit in dairy to all this if I am cutting it out? do I need it- if so how can I get what I need...
Will I get enough energy with this type of diet?
I have set a goal of a weight 2 stones less than I am and a time of 2 months, this is cutting it fine, I know, but is it dangerous?
cheers for any advice

You can get bloated quite easily with too many fruit and vegetables. Fruit because of the combination of acid and sugar. Vegetables take a lot of digesting and broccoli and cabbage are well-known creators of wind. Wholewheat and other grains are essential for fibre and B vitamins. Dairy products provide you with calcium and also protein... plus they help limit the absorption of fat into the body. So don't cut out wheat and dairy.... simply trim down the portion-sizes and choose nutritious versions....e.g. wholewheat products and organic low-fat dairy products. Cutting out alcohol and tea/coffee won't do you any harm, by contrast. Drink a good 1 - 2 litres of water each day to combat bloating. Also avoid salted/preserved/ready-made/convenience foods and don't add salt to your cooking.
The only way to make sure you're getting enough energy is to calorie count from time to time. There is a very useful 'Health Calculator' on I-Village http://www.ivillage.co.uk/health/healthcalculator/
2 stones in 2 months is not realistic and would not be healthy, I'm afraid. Aim for 8lbs - 1 stone in that time-frame. Regular exercise will help keep things moving along - both weight-wise and your digestion. Good luck
