The Bedtime bag

I know this sounds like a strange idea but it was suggested to me by the children's centre and it works really well for us. I keep a 'bedtime bag' and when I say to Jacob it's bedtime he trots off to get his bag.

In it is:

pyjamas and a nappy

his bedtime cup

cutters for playdough

special bowl for bedtime snack

Avon Sleeptherapy cream

Our routine is he gets his pyjamas on, then it's playdough time. Then a snack (banana or apple and cheese). After that we rub the Avon cream (which has a lovely relaxing smell) onto his wrists, and then he has his milk in his bedtime cup. It's surprising how well he accepts his routine when he can visually see the items in a bag - it may sound like it doesn't make much difference but it does!

What else would you put in yours?
