Hi again all,

Im really struggling with online dating, have no clue what im doing and what sorts of things to talk about on the site with people. have said that i want to make friends as well as looking for a relationship, maybe this is the wrong thing to say?? any tips and help on what to write about/email about etc would be greatfully recieved. have had a couple of people reply to my messages but after a couple of emails it seems to peter out completely. Dont know what im doing wrong.

to top it off the woman who i posted about on here earlier this year who i really like but also work with - well she has come in with an engagement ring today she is absolutly chuffed. im happy for her as she has been through a lot, i have made a fuss of her and looked at the ring etc etc but felt totally gutted even though i thought id accepted her as being straight (hence using the dating site!!). came home feeling really low about it all! i know thats daft. i just really fell for her and cos i see her everyday and work v closely with her its tough. i will accept just ebing friends with her tho in the end.

any way thanks for reading and any tips about online dating would be very welcome.

I've tried online dating too and messges from people petering out is pretty much the norm I'm afraid. I have spent a lot of time and emotional effort messaging people only for them to disappear into thin air. I found it very frustating. 

Sorry to hear nothing ever happened between you and the woman at work. I've been in the same situation countless times before and realising there's no chance of being with the object of your desires really sucks. I was recently led on by a woman I was head over heels with and I ended up losing my job indirectly as a result of what happened between us. What 'Im trying to say is that at least you know there's no chance of being with this woman and that'll save a lot of heartache in the long run. 

I really feel for you though hun so keep posting here if it helps.
