You must have read all the hype in the press about this book - Mommy Porn I think they call it! My DIL and her friends are raving about it!

Have any of you read it - I must say that the bits that I have seem no more erotic than any other stuff I've read over the years, but they seem to love it!

Therefore, In the interests of this Board I felt i ought to reserve it and see what all the fuss was about ;-)

I have just had a text to say that it is awaiting me in the local library...............I'll report back in a week or two.

But - have any of you read it - and if so, what did you think?

Hi Helen,

I've seen it mentioned on fb a couple of times so think I need to read it so see what all the fuss is about! I think I'm treating myself to a Kindle in a couple of weeks so it will be on my list of books to buy. You'll have to let me know what you think.

Just got a book to finish - about another 3/4 days and then I'll start it - My DIL rated it!!

I'm currently reading it - I'm at chapter 10 and its been relatively tame so far (mills and boon like) but im informed by some other lovely ivillage ladies who have finished all the books and are in love with mr Grey lol.

Well - the first book of the trilogy finished - and i must admit I enjoyed it! LOL

When you are as long in the tooth as me there isn't much that I haven't seen / read - so wasn't expecting much. But i have to say there is something rather delicious and forbidden about Christian Grey . I also liked her style of writing, yes it's quite explicit, but it's not obscenely so IMHO.

Plus she has a way of using the two words " oh my " in such a way that leaves your own imagination to fill in the gaps.

So - I'm reading another book at the moment, then i am moving on to " 50 Shades of Darker" the second one - hmmmmm ;-))

Well I've bought my kindle and it was my first download. :-) I'm on the first chapter.

TBH i hadn`t heard anything of this book till last week when a friend asked me if i`d heard about it as a lot of her friends were raving about it on FB. Then at the weekend my neighbour was telling me about it as well as she`d went out and bought the 1st book to see what all the fuss was about, she finished it on sunday and has given it to me to read, i have started it but only read a couple of chapters so not at any raunchy bits yet :-)

My neighbour has since went out and bought the other 2 so i`ll get them to read from her too no doubt.

So will report back when i get into the book a bit more ..........

Hi Helen, Only just read this  book before Christmas see my reading diary!!! Don't think I would like Christian Grey very much to be honest . KInky sex hasn't ever been my scene.Whippings and handcuffs not on my radar but I realise that they are on some peoples. I know this was fiction but such things are practised.I wonder what any prostitutes who may read it would  think about  it  I would love to know what  any girls that are sold into the sex trade and put through demeaning initiations before being put on the game have to say about the  situations portrayed in the book.There are of course  girls who become so sexually dependant on a man that they will do anything.which is why some battered women keep putting up with being battered .What I found the most interesting is that it is such a best seller.
