I eat quite a lot of protein, mainly from pulses, veg and soya products. I try to limit my red meat intake but i do eat chicken and fish. Am i in danger of eating too much protein?
also i take a multi vitamin and glucosamine complex and evening primrose but is that safe also?

thanks:smileyhappy:

Hi guys,

I do apologise, i have only just read your messages but Catherine was here earlier on in the day and answered the qu's that were posted just below this folder on the board.

Foodiepuss,

i dont think you are in danger of eating too much protein because excess is broken down and excreted in urine! Most of us eat more protein than we need.

As for vit a, it can be toxic in high amounts, it is a fat soluble vitamin so can be stored in the body. If you are eating a balanced diet than you shouldnt really need to take  a multivitamin tablet. The main concern with vit a would be if you were pregnant-if you are or plan on becoming pregnant as a precaution it would be wise not to take a vit a supplement.  Also liver has very high concentrations of vit a so if you consume this more than once a week (which im sure you dont!) than you should avoid taking a vit a supplement.

Hope this helps.

Shellmcc04, if you want to post your question i will do my best to help or others might also be able to help on the board.
