Have been spending though oops. Got cast iron shallow casserole dish and multi use cake stand with cover which can also be used as punch bowl and nibbles tray.

Oh no, nightmare!
As outlined in the Daily Thread everything is reorganised and put away now, we just need to get some hooks to hang up my Christmas present from DH.

I've decided keep kitchen as it is so just needs sorting. I'm going take your advice of just doing little bits. Going to do charity bag, recycle bag and another one for anything I may be able sell. Then get rid as I go along.
My stomach has been groaning with food choices argh. Haven't eaten half as much as usual either.

Trying to keep it simple as Sam suggests otherwise it'll turn out like every other time crash n burn.
Put some thoughts down on paper last night things that need looking at. I've allowed myself to order two new DVDs I'm trying out the principle that I can have things if I really want them but I must use them as a replacement for other DVDs. I think stupid as it sounds fear is one of the reasons I can't get rid of stuff. Its like a panic attack that there'll be gone from my life forever yet really if I needed them so much I could always re buy at a later date. That's how I'm looking at things. Its like holding on to clothes that don't fit. I'm trying to look along the way of if I do (and I must) lose weight would I wear them anyway probably not because I'll go and buy new ones things that looked ok ten years ago probably won't now. Fashions changed, I've changed my shape has changed so why do I hold on?
I've been doing a lot of thinking I need to make small changes everywhere. My diet is certainly one I worry about fat content but I'm eating far too much sugar and I smother everything in salt a thick layer my whole family comment on that. Stomach churning again another sleepless night after eating whole box of matchmakers on top of everything else. Need to start simple steps for huge change.

Maybe one in-one out would work for you if one of your things is fear of scarcity. That way you know that you've brought something into the house to do a better job than the thing you're replacing so you're free to let the original thing go. I know a lot of people work on that basis, even doing one in-two (or more) out if they have a lot of stuff to go through. It just keeps things moving on alongside the declutter sessions.

Hi Von,
one of the changes you and I need to make are not so much physical but mental. We need to alter our ways of thinking about things. I managed to get rid of a whole heap of stuff when I got it into my head, finally, that letting go of DH's things, didn't mean I was pushing him out of my life. I don't need his things to remember him.
One in, one out is a good way of thinking. And small, gradual changes work best too. Too drastic and we panic and give up but slow changes, especially over diet, will stick.
Hugs
