Hi there. Hope you don't mind me joining this board.

I am Amanda, 31, 5 ft 5" and currently weighing a rather hefty 16 stone 7lbs. I am a married mother of three who is studying her nvq in childcare whilst taking care of  her youngest of 2 and a half.

I have today purchased a treadmill and am aiming to start my weight loss journey from tomorrow. Was hoping that I would find some support on this board as well as being able to offer support to others.

I aim to follow the slimming world plan which worked for me in 2008 but just need the odd virtual boot up the backside to keep me going. I promise to be totally honest with you all on how i am doing.

Thanks

Amanda x

Good luck Amanda and look forward to chatting to you on here as well as on the sw board. It's my first weigh in in the morning after falling off the wagon for 10 days and having a 6lb gain. I don't go to group but weigh every Monday morning. I hoping for a 4lb loss so fingers crossed!

Hi Amanda like you i am new to this board this is my first post so i shall introduce myself. My name is also Amanda :-) Im 27 5ft 3 and im unsure of my weight my batteries ran out in my scales and i have been in no hurry to replace them (its on my todo list for this week) I know i have put on a load of weight and im not happy with myself i reckon im around 12 stone.

I have 3 kids aged from 9 to 1 and find myself using them as an excuse to treat myself either with them or when they are in bed. I havent joined a slimming class this time as i joined weight watchers before and paid for a month upfront but found it hard to go to when my partner was at his work and my friend went to the evening classes just didnt fancy going myself.  My plan this time is to healthy eat and plenty of exercise my wee dog wont know whats happening the amount i plan to walk her lol

Just wanted to wish you luck and look forward to reading how you get on :-)

Hi Amanda,

I have just joined this forum and wanted to let you know I'm in a similar situation - 5ft6 and 16st 11lbs. I have never fancied paying for the priviledge of following a diet, but I will be interested to see how you get on with SW. I've known it work for a few people. Personally, I am just working on eating more healthily, reducing portion sizes & introducing exercise into my life. It's going slowly so far, but I'm hoping to do more as time goes on and the weight comes off!

Best of luck with your journey & I look forward to getting to know you.

Hi E-F,

Welcome to the board and good luck with your weight loss. SW is great and followed correctly it works for everyone. I think a lot of people need the structure of a healthy eating plan to help them stay on track. I think that's why SW is so great as it fits in with the rest of the family and other you lose weight following it it's considered to be a healthy eating plan rather than a diet.

Let us know how you are getting on and please join in with the board even if you decide SW is not quite for you. We're all here for the same reason we want to be slimmer/healthier. :-)
