Sad news fellow villagers. I have been diagnosed as having a cancer in my one and only kidney, and as I would not permit them to take it out and put me on dialysis, my only other option is an early departure to the new life. This could be anything from one week to 6 months, but means I will no longer be posting and answering questions on here. I have to say it has been fun and a priviledge to offer help, and you have all taught me much.

I hope you don't mind a member of the staff here posting in reply. I have been with the iVillage community team (on and off) for many years and have always enjoyed seeing the positive impact that you bring to this board. Your wise advice and wit has so obviously been a great joy to many, many community members. I'm very sad to hear your health news.

I'm so sorry to hear of your condition, I have read your posts and responses on many occasions and always thought how supportive and informative they have been, although never having posted myself.
