Well, I had decided that begining of september would be the very earliest we could ttc, it's nearly here (cd 1 tomoz!) but our money situation isn't very good at the mo. dp hasn't got much work on at the mo, he's hopeful to get some for this coming week, if he does hopefully itl be ok, but the past few weeks mostly he's rarely had a full weeks work.
I've increased my hrs at work from 30 to 37.5 back full time from sept-to ensure max mat pay. So hopefully the extra couple of hundred a month will help. I wanted to have some saved before ttc but as it is, we've my bin able too. So one of the reasons I increased my hrs, a bit like a compromise with myself!
I'm just if'ing ad r'ing whether to wait one more month so we can hopefully get more on too of things with money, but I'm finding it very hard to reason with myself! And just want to go for it! I mean chances are it won't happen first try anyway but there's alway the chance. And money/work circumstances arnt as I'd hoped right now.
We have all the big stuff from Lo, so it's just clothes new bedding decorating the nursery (gettin excited thinking about it!) stuff, I just wanted to be able to get nice things and have 12 months off cause this will be our last, and want to make the most of it.
I'm not saying I won't be able to do those things, but I just would have been happier if we had a bit saved up before hand, well also have an extra mouth to feed this time round too! Just hope work picks up soon, and try an save save save one it has!

I think money's always tight when on maternity leave whether you have any saved or not. I managed to take the full year off after both my 2 but we had to cut back on quite alot of things whilst on maternity leave and bought lots of good quality second hand things second time round.
If you can make ends meet on what you'd expect to get on Mat leave then go for it - you'll only be thinking endlessly about TTC until you do it!
Good luck!

Yeah I agree go for it if everyone thought that way no one would have kids!
My first wasn't planned as I was only young yet you always find a way and after number three which was planned as I was older proper settled etc and then the excitement of brand new this and that, its only then that u sit down and think omg that cost loads and was worn/used for all of five mins!
You can always pick up very good used items I agree with ping.
My second child again all most of her first outfits were second hand yet the excitement of spending about a tenner and her looking gorgeous was amazing!
I've babbled a bit lol but yeah go for it! Xx

Agreed, I got PG when i'd been on maternity leave for 5.5 months so have my LO's almost 14 months apart. Only went back to work for 3 months which was hard BUT if we'd have waited for the money to be 'perfect' we would still be childless i'm sure x
