Hi all,

I hope you don't mind me intruding.  I have a 4 year old son and I came off the pill in October last year.  So far we've had no success this time (though it did take 7 months to concieve my son).  Anyway, this month, I started using the digital ovulation tests and I ovulated on day 15 of my cycle  We dtd the day before I got the positive test and the day after.  I always get really tender breasts about 5 days before AF arrives but this month nothing at all.  Day 25 (my cycle is average 24-27 days) on Wednesday, I had some streaking (sorry if TMI) but I still had no other symptoms that I was about to come on so I did a HPT which was negative.  Anyway, all I've had for the last few days is a mixture of brownish streaking with one instance of bright red and now I'm back to nothing.

Do you think it's possible that I am pregnant despite the negative HPT?????

 Hi,

If AF has not showed up there is every chance that you are pg especially as you bd at the right time.  Hopefully the bleeding that you had was implantation and that in a day or so you will get a lovely BFP !!!

Thanks Tracey - it would appear that it's still not to be!  I did another HPT test today and there isn't even the slightest hint of a line, so I think mother nature is just playing funny with me this month!!  Fingers crossed for next month!!

Yes, I did another one yesterday but it was still negative.  I'm really confused by it all now, because whilst I'm bleeding, it's ridiculously light (not even enough for a light tampon) and it's just brown, not like a normal AF (sorry, really TMI).

Very strange indeed.

they say brown blood is old blood, is rather odd tho hun, hope u get an answer either way soon hun x x

I came on heavier like a normal AF last night so at least I know for definite now.

I'm confused about how I should date my cycle this month though - cd1 yesterday when the proper bleeding started or cd1 as Wednesday when the spotting/weirdness started. Any ideas??

As others say - brown is old... so COULD be implantation ... i had brown fir 5 weeks when pg with my ds2!! xx
