January over!

I can't believe January is over already! I certainly haven't made half the changes I intended to this month! Is anyone else surprised to be going into February tomorrow or is it just me??

I need to try harder. I owe it to myself and my loved ones to get myself in shape. Sometimes I could just cry on the spot, I want to lose weight so much! So why can't I put the effort in??!

Sorry just need to let off steam!

Hey, don't beat yourself up about it. It takes time, all the adverts for miracle diets, shows like The Biggest Loser and the fact that it always looks like everyone else is doing perfectly (they're not) skews our view of things. If you're doing something now that you weren't doing this time last month then you've made progress. The idea of losing weight is simple, that doesn't mean it's easy.

So, what positive things can you take from January? There must be something, even if it is just the realisation that it's not going to happen overnight.

Is there anything in particular that you're finding hard or do you just not have the excitement about it you thought you'd have? If you thrash it out maybe we can think up some new strategies to get you going.

You're right, January has flown by. I'm looking outside at a gorgeous sunny day and really looking forward to getting out there later - even though it's freezing. It's DH's birthday so we are having a cake and who knows what as a celebratory tea, but that's life. A bit of a walk on the beach and maybe a few games of tennis on the wii is better than no exercise at all. Have a great day!

Hello

Yep, it has flown in - its only one month though - there are others to get in what we want to do!  I'm still of alcohol, and its so not bothering me which is strange - rather have a bar of dairy milk than a glass of wine!

The weather up here hasn't been too bad so we're alking a lot - maybe even up to 12 miles a week which is kee[ping me sane!
