great stuff to keep stored in the old grey matter, Im bit slow on the uptake attimes so dont get the response in quick enough. Interesting stuff gnerally. My MIL is deceased and my mom says she couldnt feed because of inverted nipples(sos mom sharing tmi lol) but i have to say my mom has never said any of those things, I think deep down shes very proud of me. Great link. I've never read all the research around formula and the dangers, I think this article is quite extreme in places and would make some moms who do struggle with BF feel very gulity, I know from here that some moms successfully mix feed, it wasnt for me but i do think the article is quite intolerant of the problems some ladies encounter. I like the links re illness/allergies. My DD has never been to the doctors except for jabs, eats anything you give her and has never had allery/viral rash or anything buth then si is my DS who was only EBF for 4 months then mixed fed so maybe my children are just lucky????
Great read though hun, thanks for sharing

Thank you so much for posting this, I'm almost in tears as it's brought back a lot of the arguing I faced when my twins were born and 'well-intended' family members were coming round to 'help'.
I BFed my first born for 1 year and I was very sad when he weaned himself off the breast. My supply was low, I was battling a tonsilitis and needed stronger anti-biotics that weren't compatible with breastfeeding.
My twins are now 1 year old and I'm still tandem feeding them using my EZ2 nurse pillow. They are really healthy and breezed through the winter months without catching any of the little coughs and colds my first born occasionlly catches at school.
But so many of my relatives were disapproving of my BFing the twins. I was making life harder on myself than needed be, I would suffer from depression because of lack of sleep. I wouldn't be able to provide enough for them, they'd go hungry, I wouldn't have enough time to give attention to my first born, etc. I've heard it all!! Thank god my DH was supportive, he couldn't care less how I was feeding the babies, as long as I and they were happy!
And I was doing it out of convenience. I have enough chores around the house with 3 kids, I didn't have time to prepare 12 bottles a day, boil the kettle, sterilise the bottles, etc. We don't have a dishwasher and I HATE doing dishes! And the cost, the sheer cost!! When my 'well-intended' relatives were trying to discourage me, I'd tell them 'go and buy the formula, come and prepare the feeds and be around at midnight and then at 3am to warm the milk and give them the bottles' That shut them up. One year on and I don't speak to my mum anymore. She was only calling me to ask if the babies had teeth yet and to ask when I would stop 'doing that'.
I wasn't a hardcore BFer when I started on this journey but now I am! The health of my children (and my physical and mental health) are a testimony of our success as a family. And I am more proud than anyone will ever know!
Cheers to me and all the others who have to argue over something so lovely and natural x
