Hi!

I have just got a slow cooker and I have a small pork joint in the freezer that I would like to cook in it.

Can anyone tell me the best way to do it?

Thanks! :smileyhappy:

Hi,

saw this on hot topics. I cook joints of meat in my slow cooker regularly. I put about a half a mugful of stock in the bottom of the slow cooker and just pop the joint in on top ( I always defrost first but it can be done from frozen) . I usually put it on auto for 6/7 hours,. If you use the high heat setting four hours is usually plenty.

The joints or chicken or whatever always come out tender using this method of cooking. Enjoy!

Hugs

Hi

I am sure you have already done it by now but we LOVE this recipe for pork joints in the slow cooker - trim off the fat first though as it goes really soggy. If you thicken the sauce and use it as a gravy it's delicious - quite spicy though so either leave ot the chilli powder or don't have the gravy if you don't like it spicy (kids don't, we do!)
