Holiday house swap
Its becoming more and more popular to go on holiday using a house swap arrangement. Its a great way to save money, but I'm not sure i'm organised enough to prepare my house for someone else to stay in it! Would you do it?

Yes, I've heard about this but the thought of all the housework and clearing up I'd need to do is a bit daunting. Also, my house isn't anything fancy or stylish, it's just a normal family home.
It is near the sea at a popular resort though so I'm sure if I got organised I wouldn't have too much trouble getting someone to swap because of its location. I think my ds would want us to swap with someone who lives near Thomasland as that's the only place in the world he wants to visit!!!
love

The British Open golf is at our local course this year and for the past 9 months or so we've had leaflets through the door asking for locals to rent out their house or their parking space for people attending the event (paid of course). I would be tempted to do it were it not for the fact we have house rabbits. Getting away from town that week seems very tempting! A friend of mine used to live near Wimbledon and would rent his flat out when the tennis was on, made a tidy sum too.
I think we'd be ok for a holiday swap as we live near the coast, our house is less than a mile from the beach/town, our street is very quiet and the house is good - not visually to everyone's taste as it's a 1960's house but I love it and it's great inside. I don't think DH would been too keen though, unless someone from Norway wanted to swap with us!

The more I think about it Teanna the more I would worry about the cleaning and the simplicity of our little house, but like you we're in a popular area for tourists and I'm sure we'd get a swap if we could find a like minded couple.

Hahaaa - we go to the Open Golf sometime Sam, we could swap! We went to St Georges in Kent last year and stayed with family and presviously we've been to Lytham St Anns and St Andrews both times staying a hour or so away to beat the highly inflated prices.
Seriously though, you could make good money for the week if you could pack up and move out. Even the film crews and drivers have hefty living allowances and they don't go for the mansions. Dare you!

I know adverts for housing have gone out to Preston, the Ribble Valley and places like that, not just LSA I think they're after anywhere in a 20 mile radius of the course. We're less than a mile from the course so it would be a good thing to do. But we have no-one to take the rabbits and one of them is so aggressive the pet hotel wouldn't take her.
Believe me with how busy I think it's going to be, if i could escape for a few days I would!
