Big concerns!

hi ladies, I hope you are having a good weekend!

I am struggling with a conflict of interests - on the one hand, I am in full flow with the decluttering needed before we move house, with the side effect of eating more than usual (through hunger, not just emotional eating)! On the other hand, because we have now extended the time we will keep the house on to the end of December, I am concerned that I won't get to change my habits as soon as I had planned & therefore won't meet my weight loss goals for my holiday in January!

There has to be a way to work on both goals at the same time, but I just can't work out how!!

All thoughts & ideas very welcome!

Preparation.

That's the key to success, plan your meals, plan your declutter sessions. If you have a slowcooker use it so it's taking the strain while you do other things or take a little extra time to cook two meals so you're only cooking every other day and reheating the next day or cooking a double portion and sticking the rest in the freezer, chop a load of veg at one time and store it in the fridge so you just have to pick bits out whenever you're cooking or making a sandwich or whatever. Whether you're eating crap or eating healthily you have to take time to prepare it, order it or stick it in the oven so healthy eating need take no more time than less than healthy, measure your portions and eat just that, keep hydrated throughout the day, make regular meals a priority and keep on moving.

There is no perfect time to change, there are numerous easy changes you could make today to change your life, pick one and do it, pick another one tomorrow and piggy back it onto today's, keep on doing it until you hit your goal. There's not much difference between a reason and an excuse.

Hi Sam

Yes, preparation is my weak point! I suppose you are right that it takes the same length of time to prepare junk as it does healthier foods. I guess the process starts at the supermarket though, because I can only eat what we have bought!

Thanks for your message, I'll have to take a look at things and see what I can change.

Preparation and changing my mind are my weaknesses! But I do agree with what Sam says (as ever :smileyhappy:) especially re batch cooking. My worst time of the day is when I get home from work and can't be bothered cooking - if theres something in the freezer that I can defrost then the problem has just about gone away (not entirely as I am prone to diverting to the supermarket still and buying junk!).

I just need to sort out the freezer as its full so no batch booking for me at the mo.
