BFP after 7+ years of waiting!!

I'm not sure how many on here will remember me, but I found this messageboard extremely helpful and supportive during my time of TFAB with my ex 7+ years ago.  I also made a fabulous friend on here too with being a cycle buddy with her!!

Anyway, I just thought I'd post to say that I finally got a BFP.  Totally out of the blue, without even trying although it's still early days and I'm only 6 weeks gone...

My ex and I tried for 3 and a half years without success - not even one BFP.  It wasn't meant to be (with him anyway!) and I'm so glad now as our relationship ended sourly with him cheating on me.  He has since had a child with his current gf.

I saw Specialist after Specialist who told me that as my AMH level was low, the only way I would get pg would be through IVF and I'd had to do it quickly as time wasn't on my side.  Oh and I'm now 39.  So, when I was single 2 years ago I tried IVF and it was not successful, despite getting 19 eggs.  None fertilised.  It was heartbreaking so I gave up and decided that being a Mum was perhaps was not meant to be for me so I decided I'd just adopt more dogs instead!! :smileyhappy:

I have been with new bf for about 18 months and we haven't actually been tfab at all as I told him it would be a miracle if I ever fell pg naturally.  I never went back on the pill though.  So, after only having sex once in May (yes, once!), that is all it took.  Just once.  No planning, no thought, no ov tests, no temp taking, no stress, nothing.  Just relaxed, enjoyment and, erm (sorry if tmi but I think this is important!!) an orgasm at the right time!!! ;o)

For all the girls on here tfab, I would recommend you do the same!!  Tfab can be so stressful, so upsetting, disappointing, it has ups and downs (mainly downs) and sometimes that BFP is never seen at all.

I have been so lucky and I just hope that my good luck baby dust can be spread about to all of you who are trying to be a Mummy and start a family.

Sally xx

What an amazing story! Maybe you and your Ex were just not compatible in that way and it just wasn't meant to be.

Sending you lots of sticky glue and good luck xxx
