Apples & Bananas!!

I am a self confessed junk food over eater. I must admit if I fancy a biscuit I have one or 2 or 3 etc. I have no qulams about eating unhealthly and I love a drink, like a bottle of wine etc. I don't much care for exercise either and since having my daughter I carry about 2 stone more than I ever did which makes me size 12-14 and just slightly overweight, but its enough to make me feel mega unhealthy.

Recently I have started eating apples and bananas and I can't believe the change in the way I feel. Less sluggish and more alert. I'm still eating all my usual junk but in less quantities. I'll never be a health freak, but I would love to loose the excess weight. I'm just gonna concentrate on eating healthily for now and hpe that after my next pregnancy I can try and get a feel for exercise. I now have it in my head I want to run a marathon and run it well, so I have my goals.

My first is to eat more healthy than what I ve been, next I have to try and reduce my portion sizes.

My main point of this post is the power of fruit is so great that for someone like me I have noticed a real change in the way I feel, just by eating apples and bananas. Great start :smileysurprised:)

Hello,

thanks for posting, i'm really pleased you feel so much better and thanks for your encouraging post, sometimes it's easy to think it won't make a difference but i'm glad you are reeping the benefits in terms of feeling more energetic just from making a small change. I think an all rounded diet is the best, a little bit of what you fancy does you good, lol! But the power of good old fresh fruit shouldnt be underestimated :smileyhappy: bananas and apples are my staples when it comes to fruit but i try and make an effort now and then to choose a different fruit to add some variety. Mango is delicious, and i love peaches. Of course fruit is so much better in season but you can't go wrong with apples and bananas and they're very portable, unlike juicy mangoes which are a right faff to prepare!

Hey,

What a great post to read. Good on you for making those changes. If you continue on your journey to a healthier self, you're going to be feeling better but also, what an example for your children.

Sounds like you are planning on getting pregnant, how about getting some exercise before you go for it. Small steps, like with your fruit, and it can really change the way you feel. The healthier you are before you fall pregnant the more likely you are to enjoy and sail through your pregnancy.

Also you could make it your next step to now eat more vegetables. Fruit is very good for you, but it does have quite a bit of sugar (don't stop eating them though!). Most vegetables are higher in fibre but lower in sugar which makes them ideal for losing weight. A lot of pregnant women aren't regular and veggies can help with that too.

Anyway, good luck and let us know how you get on.

x
